UV Lights - Highly Effective
UV lights are very effective for improving air quality because the earth's atmosphere filters out UV-C light, and because of this, micro-organisms have no defense against it. A study by the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) concluded that the use of UV may be effective for reducing fungal (mold) contamination. They found significantly lower levels of fungal contamination in the filters of air handlers equipped with UV lights and lower levels of viable and total airborne fungi in areas served by air handlers equipped with UV lights.
